In today’s business environment, corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a driving force for corporate culture. And so it should be. CSR is rewarding for the businesses that organize them, the employees that get involved and the people or organizations that reap the benefits.
With so much emphasis put on giving back during the holiday season, it’s a great time to infuse some CSR into your company’s culture. An ideal way to do this is through charity team building events.
If you are looking for fun ways to give back this holiday season through charitable team building, try one of these five events from Teambonders:
- Bicycle Building
If you’re looking for a team building activity that generates goodwill, team spirit and lifts morale, then Bicycle Building is a great choice. It’s an engaging CSR team building activity that your group will love!
The goal of this event is to provide something back to the community and make a positive contribution as a corporate team. Each team will build a working bike for a child or teen and the finished products will be donated to a charity of your team’s choice.
- Pack a Sack
Whether the goal is to help children with school supplies, the homeless with warm essentials for the winter or military personnel with some items from home, Pack A Sack is a great way to give your team the warm fuzzies while helping them team build and bond over an important cause.
All you have to do is tell us which cause you want to help and we will tailor a solution that suits not only your imagination but also your budget.
- Teddy Bear and Toy Building
During this event, teams will be challenged to design, make and decorate a variety of stuffed animals and clothing. Once completed, the stuffed animals will be donated to a children’s cause of your choice. Beneficiaries can include hospitals, toy drives, law and fire enforcement, charities and local primary schools.
To help make the event even more exciting, your team will work together to solve fun challenges and accumulate points for the Teddy Bear Store. They can then “purchase” costumes, decorative items, voice modules, gift boxes and more for their stuffed animals.
If teddy bears aren’t your thing, you can also do a toy building activity. Teams will be given instructions, parts and materials to create fun toys. We have lots of pre-created options, but we can also help come up with some ideas that fit your company culture or a favourite charity. As with the teddy bears, teams will compete to earn points to be used to buy extra bling for their toys.
- Wheelchair Building
In this activity, you will construct a fully functional wheelchair while building team spirit, communication, collaboration and camaraderie. Your on-site host and our facilitation team will assist your group in the safe assembly of the chairs. Once complete, you can donate them to the hospice, senior’s residence or care-giving organization of your choice.
- Go virtual
We have a ton of great virtual programs that can be easily turned into a charitable home run. All you have to do is pick a program and a cause and we’ll take care of the rest.
If you aren’t sure where to start, here are some ideas:
- Play VIRTUAL SURVEY SHOWDOWN where each team plays for a cause of their choice.
- Try a VIRTUAL LIVE CHEF EXPERIENCE and donate the food to a local shelter or others who are in need.
- Have a go at VIRTUAL JEOPARTY where each teams’ winnings are donated to their charity of choice.
Whatever your cause, we can help you plan a team building event that harnesses the holiday spirit - while developing important team skills. Interested in learning more? Contact us today.
