There's something quietly powerful about bringing a team together to do something that genuinely matters. Not a trust fall or a trivia night, but an afternoon where your people walk away knowing they made a real difference for someone in their own city. That's what Pack a Sack is built around, and it's why the teams who experience it still talk about it long after the event ends.
And the best part? It's completely handled for you.
Your Team Wants More Than a Fun Afternoon
The pressure on HR and team leaders today is real. You're expected to drive engagement, support wellbeing, align with corporate values, and deliver experiences people actually remember, all while managing a hundred other priorities.
CSR-tied team building hits differently than a typical event. When people work toward a shared goal that benefits someone in their own community, the connection they feel is genuine. Research from Harvard Business Review confirms that shared experiences and social interaction are among the most powerful drivers of workplace communication and collaboration. Pack a Sack is what that looks like in practice.
What Actually Happens at a Pack a Sack Event
This isn't a box of supplies and a vague directive to pack something. It's a structured, gamified experience where your team earns supplies through challenges, makes strategic decisions, and assembles fully stocked bags for people who genuinely need them.
And these aren’t just small sacks, they are full sized backpacks, stuffed to the brim.
If your event supports people experiencing homelessness, bags go out packed with hats, mittens, socks, toothbrushes, soap, and other critical essentials that help someone stay healthy and comfortable through a Toronto winter.
If the focus is kids heading back to school, bags are filled with school supplies, books, small toys, and water bottles, everything a child needs to walk into the classroom feeling ready and cared for.
Over the years, Teambonders clients have donated thousands of bags to Toronto communities. The average Pack a Sack event assembles 50 or more bags. That's not a symbolic gesture, that's a real, measurable impact your team can see and feel proud of on the day.
Rooted in the Toronto Community
Two of our most trusted local charity partners are Covenant House Toronto and Yellow Brick House.
Covenant House Toronto is Canada's largest agency serving youth who are homeless, trafficked, or at risk, offering a wide range of services to more than 300 young people every day, from 24/7 crisis shelter and transitional housing to health care, counselling, and employment support. Bags packed for Covenant House go directly to youth who need warmth, dignity, and a reminder that someone in this city sees them.
Yellow Brick House provides comprehensive support for women and children who are victims of domestic violence, including emergency shelter, crisis support, counselling, and transitional housing. Since 1978, Yellow Brick House has been one of the largest providers in Ontario of services to women and children escaping domestic violence and abuse. Bags assembled for Yellow Brick House go to families in the middle of one of the hardest chapters of their lives.
These aren't abstract causes. They're organizations doing critical work in your city, and your team's effort goes directly to the people they serve.
Already have a charity your company is aligned with? We can build the event around your chosen cause instead.

The Story You Bring Back to Leadership
When the event wraps, you leave with more than good memories. You have something tangible to share: the number of bags your team packed, the organizations you supported, and the direct impact made in a single afternoon in your own city.
That's the kind of story that lands in leadership meetings and internal communications. It speaks to employee engagement, CSR alignment, and the kind of culture your organization is actively building.
